Privacy and Daylight for Patient Well-Being

| OKALUX | Reference

Hope Plaza in Duarte, California, is designed around the needs of patients, combining a calm treatment environment with a strong connection to the surrounding San Gabriel Mountains.

Designed by CO Architects in association with EwingCole for City of Hope, the outpatient cancer centre uses daylight and views as key elements of the architectural concept.

Where privacy is essential, OKALUX+ insulating glass creates bright and protected interior spaces. Its integrated capillary insert provides complete visual privacy while gently diffusing incoming daylight, reducing glare and harsh contrasts. Enhanced thermal insulation and solar protection further contribute to a comfortable indoor environment throughout the year.

By filtering daylight while shielding sensitive areas from outside views, OKALUX+ becomes an integral part of a design focused on patient well-being. The softly diffused light creates a calm interior atmosphere, while the translucent appearance gives the façade depth and a distinctive visual quality.
