Eßmann Gärtner Nieper Architekten combine improvements to the building’s energy performance with a distinctive colour and material concept. Pink walls and ceilings meet beech-veneered surfaces and a plum-coloured sports floor. The interplay of expressive colour and warm timber surfaces gives the four-court hall a character of its own.
Daylight adds a further dimension to this composition. The question is not simply how much light enters the space, but how it is distributed.
OKALUX+ diffuses incoming daylight through a capillary slab in the cavity. The resulting diffuse light distribution supports uniform illumination and softens harsh shadows. Effective glare protection contributes to visual comfort across the playing areas. The light-diffusing double-glazing insulating glass with an optimised Ug-value combines daylight quality and thermal insulation in a single building element.
