This skyscraper designed by Rafael Viñoly Architects in the heart of the City of London boasts an unusual top-heavy design where the floor plan gets bigger the higher you go. This gave the planners valuable space in the upper floors. The 160-metre-high tower is crowned with the three-storey Sky Garden, London’s first public green space and viewing platform at the top of a building.

The fan-like façade is almost entirely glass to maximise the views from the offices within. In the upper floors, the north-facing curtain façade pushes up over the roof fins, creating a large city window that stretches over the entire height of the Sky Garden.

BGT delivered a total of 4,300 m² of insulating glass, made with laminated safety glass to ensure stability. Solar protection coatings reduce heat influx in the summer months. The building was awarded the BREEAM “Excellent” rating.
