A future made of glass

| BGT | Reference

On the forecourt of Berlin's main station, the capital welcomes train passengers with a particularly futuristic sight: The impressive glass CUBE by 3XN/GXN.

The building design combines the latest progress in sustainability, design and digitalization. Flexible office space, a food market and a roof terrace create a dynamic environment where work, cooperation and relaxation come together.

The Glas Trösch subsidiary BGT Bischoff Glastechnik supplied the laminated safety glass for the outer layer of the façade. The three-dimensional outer skin serves as an interactive element that appeals to passersby and users alike, offering a unique and constantly changing view of the city. Even from the isolated balconies hidden behind the intelligent folding of the building envelope. Equally invisible remains the adaptive control center that makes the office building an intelligent one. Technical systems and user data are processed here, for example, to regulate heating, cooling and ventilation depending on the number of people measured and to adapt cleaning intervals to the intensity of use. These thoughtful design decisions make CUBE a brilliant example of how architecture can combine both style and climate responsibility.
