The architectural quality of the building is reflected not only in its clearly articulated envelope. Inside, integrated artworks, carefully designed surfaces and preserved interior elements also define the existing architecture.
Glas Trösch also contributed to the project: SWISSDUREX toughened safety glass with full-surface DECO SC printing in cream was used for the spandrel areas. The fully printed glass surfaces blend into the façade’s calm composition and colour palette. In addition, five doors were fitted with insulating glass.
The overall planning of the refurbishment and extension was carried out by BauSpektrum AG. The metalwork was executed by XEAG Metallbau, Gerlafingen.
The project demonstrates how the architectural qualities of an existing building can be preserved while being carefully developed with contemporary solutions.
