The three-storey building was developed to meet ambitious sustainability goals and has been awarded LEED Platinum certification. Generous glazing creates bright, inviting interiors while maintaining a strong visual connection to the surrounding Berkshire Mountains.
As one of the first projects to feature OKAWOOD insulating glass with integrated beech timber louvres, the building demonstrates how natural materials and high-performance glazing can be combined into an integrated façade solution. The timber louvres, embedded within the insulating glass cavity, provide direction-selective solar shading, reducing solar heat gain and limiting direct sunlight. At the same time, the glazing remains transparent, preserving outward views while creating balanced natural daylight throughout the interior.
