The publishing building completes the urban block while creating a shared courtyard for employees and visitors. Home to WA Westfälischer Anzeiger, the building brings together print, digital media and radio under one roof. Its transparent façade reflects the openness and connectivity that define modern journalism.
Large glazed façades shape the building's appearance while filling the workspaces with generous amounts of natural daylight. At the same time, the façade had to meet demanding requirements for solar control and occupant comfort. OKAWOOD insulating glass provided the ideal solution: timber louvres integrated within the insulating glass cavity deliver direction-selective solar shading, reducing solar heat gain and limiting direct sunlight. At the same time, the glazing remains transparent, preserving visual connections between the interior and its surroundings and creating bright, comfortable workplaces with balanced natural daylight.
The result is a façade solution that combines the natural character of wood with the performance of high-quality insulating glass, bringing together energy efficiency, occupant comfort and architectural design.
