Named after the first Black justice appointed to the U.S. Supreme Court, the four-storey building brings together research, teaching, and social innovation under one roof. LEO A DALY developed a spatial concept that promotes interdisciplinary exchange and supports contemporary teaching formats.
OKASOLAR F is a key component of the façade concept. The daylight-optimised insulating glass incorporates permanently positioned, three-dimensionally formed reflective lamellae within the cavity, enabling direction-selective solar control. This reduces heat gains and the need for artificial lighting while guiding natural daylight deep into the interior.
The slim lamella design supports a compact glazing structure and contributes to the project’s targeted LEED Gold certification.
